Jamgön Kongrtul Lodrö Thaye
Translation: Lama Eric Trinle Thaye

Since the time Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye composed the Milarepa Guru Yoga, it has been one of the most important guru yoga practices in the Kagyu lineage. It serves as a daily ritual for many dharma practitioners who seek to cultivate or increase their devotion for Tibet’s most famous yogi and forefather of all Kagyupas.

Most of the Kagyu monasteries, nunneries, and dharma centers also perform it as a group practice with the accompanying ganachakra ritual. It is often chanted to mark the anniversaries of Milarepa or other masters, as part of the chanting The Ocean of Songs of the Kagyu, and on other occasions. This eBook features some additional passages, mainly long life prayers and aspiration prayers, that the Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje often adds to this practice.

Note: This guru yoga should be used with care and only by those who received the appropriate empowerment, transmission, and instructions from a qualified lama.
